YEIDA has been spearheading the industrial promotion in the State and has been instrumental in keeping the State at the numero uno position among the states for several decades now. Till date, YEIDA has developed a record 154 industrial areas on approximately 43,788.54 acres of land across Uttar Pradesh.

UP Government has enacted the UP Industrial Development Act, 1976 to ensure planned development of industrial and allied activities in the state. NOIDA, Greater NOIDA (GNOIDA) and Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) have been created under this Act for the systematic development of their respective notified areas abutting Delhi, which if not planned, would have been prone to unauthorized urban growth. Noida and Greater Noida are the two main upcoming townships in the vicinity of the YEIDA notified area and would have a strong influence on any development within it. Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, located at Agra is an important tourist destination. Presently Agra is about 210 km away from Delhi by road.
